We almost went with the Amari - you know what you re going to get - but in the end opted for the Barali.First impression of the access road was pretty poor - nice until the entrance to the Tropicana (next door), but then it looks quite dodgy... Since we were driving, this was not an issue, but I would not have liked to have to walk it every time I needed to go anywhere. But when you arrive at the hotel it is very nice. Our room was clean with a huge bathroom with an outdoor bathtub which the kids loved. The infinity edge pool was great giving a nice view onto the beach. The beach itself seemed to be cleaner than that of the neighbouring hotels - maybe Barali staff do a better job early in the morning? When we were there, the beach deckchairs were just enough to cover all guests without getting the feeling of being on an overcrowded beach.Several comments had been made about breakfast not being great, but our impression was that it was certainly good enough for our needs - without being anything extra special. There are plenty of good restaurants available at the main road which is just a (longish...) walk away. The best point of the hotel - it has a small hotel feeling with everyone saying hello and smiling. The majority of the guests were Scandinavian and German with no sign of the Russian invasion evident in all of the other hotels - maybe this was also a plus?...The worst point - Although the staff on hand were very helpful and friendly, they could have done with a couple more people on duty during the day on at the pool / beach area. Also, the facilities are quite basic, but that is what you get with a small hotel.Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would consider coming again. <span style="display:none">[R24 integr.ERR:escaping]</span>" |

March 6, 2008 by Reuben Halper Visit Date:February 26, 2008 "I would not recommend this hotel. The grounds are nice, but not worth the price. The rooms are OK, but again not worth the price. The staff were horribly inattentive. The bathroom was dirty, and the hot water didn t work for the first three days of my stay, despite my complaints to the front desk. I asked to speak to a manager who never got back to me. Overall I would not stay here again or recommend anyone stay here. " |

Without problems, April 27, 2007 by Burkhard Schmidt Visit Date:April 16, 2007 "A nice , quite place. But the security is not good. Three bungalows missed after one evening mobilephones, a watch and money. If you stay there, please use the safes at the front desk." |
Very good!, April 25, 2007 by Henrik Isakson Visit Date:March 27, 2007 "Nice location right at the beach. Very nice architecture, style of the bungalows. The hotel had a just opened spa with excellent massage! Service was friendly but with lots of misunderstandings due to the poor command of english among the personell. Nice pool with a wonderful view of the sea and the mountains! Two problems though: the resturant was expensive and not very good. The beach was not as nice as we had hoped for. Not crystal clear water and with lots of stones and pebbles, not as soft as we would have liked. <span style="display:none">[R24 integr.ERR:escaping]</span>" |
